Sarah Fairbank is a jewelry designer, skilled metalsmith, and GIA Diamond Graduate. Her expertise includes hyperreal technical drawing, painting, and portraiture. She is based in New York City.

Born in Seattle, her creative beginnings stemmed from studying painting and drawing at ten under Claudia McKinstry. A passion for art evolved to encompass various mediums including sculpture, drawing, and various textile arts. By 17 she quickly took to the traditional art of metalsmithing and began creating complex pieces of jewelry.

She earned her BFA from Rochester Institute of Technology in Metals and Jewelry Design under the instruction of Leonard Urso and Juan Carlos Perez, while completing summer studies at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.

This quickly led to establishing a vibrant creative life in New York City where she furthered her career by graduating from the esteemed Gemological Institute of America with her Diamond Degree.

Fairbank has been honored by Fretz, published in the Jewelry Artist Lapidary Journal, and featured in galleries in New York, Seattle, and Chicago. Her work for The Met has been featured in The New York Times, with prolific collaborations including Aerosmith’s exclusive jewelry line.

Private commissions for Donna Distefano’s clients including Ringo Starr, Johnny Depp, Joe Perry amongst many others. This work she contributed to was acknowledged in The New York Times and JCK Magazine.
